FRED HEYDEN is….

"an incredible talented young man."
(Gary Coxhead, Radio Tamworth, Australia)

Fred Heyden belongs to the exceptional 1968 generation. The singer and songwriter started playing the Guitar at an early age. At the tender age of 8 Fred Heyden fell in love with Bottleneck and Guitar, at the age of 12 he discovered the original strains of Folk Music and at 15 he was practicing the elaborate Two-Finger-Picking into the wee hours.

At the age of 13 he formed his first rock band, the Mad Lions. At 15 the second band Lucky Freddy und die Untoten followed. At the same time he joined his first Irish Folk Band. In addition to performing Street Music throughout Germany, the man without sight earns his first money at an early age with his excellent music. Acknowledged as exceptionally talented musician, at the age of 20 Fred Heyden is playing in six bands at the same time and starting to build up a reputation as a studio musician. He tours Germany and Australia as a solo artist with Australian Folk and Country Music, and constantly perfects his musical talent as a performer and recording artist.

Fred Heyden has shown us all: For 15 years – and lacking his eyesight – he has travelled the globe as a soloist in studios, on stages and with innumerable shows. His distinctive voice and skilful playing on all string instruments from Irish and Australian Folk to Hard Rock make him a brilliant and powerful musician – with a strong, quiet sense of humour.
