Fred Heyden is an exceptional musician. A globetrotter on the strings of his guitars. Fred Heyden is a songwriter, singer, composer, guitarist, pedal steeler, entertainer and story-teller. Sum upped, Fred Heyden is a top-notch folk and country musician with a distinctive voice and well versed in many string instruments.
His roots are deeply embedded in the original folk and country music of Australia and throughout the bluegrass world of instruments, he takes us on a musical tour around the globe. For 15 years he has travelled the globe as a soloist, in studios, on stages and with innumerable shows. His stage performance captures his love for the guitar, his understanding of the lyrics, and his appreciation of the audience. No matter what genre, he’s a pedal steeler through and through.
Musically at home, in Australian and Irish folk, grown up with Blue-Note Glissandi and Hawaiian Guitar, today the man without sight masters every 24-hour Rock session with enthusiasm and confidence. As a pedal steeler, dobro, mandolin and banjo man, he also plays rhythm and solo guitar and is an excellent, experienced session musician.
Comments:
Fred Heyden plays nearly all possible string instruments in an outstanding way (Western Mail) /... sings with a tremendous and clear voice (F. Hog, Musikjournalist), ...highly recommended (Music Eagle), ...an refreshing acoustic and authentic talent (C. Ebner, CD-Kritikerin).
